I didn't realize how exhausted I was until I stopped.

August 18, 2026

I didn't realize how exhausted I was until I stopped.

I took a few days away recently, a quick trip to Cabo. Nothing long. Nothing elaborate. Just enough time to step outside of my normal rhythm And I needed it more than I realized.

For the past year and a half, I've actually spent a lot of time in solitude. And I don't mean loneliness. I enjoy being alone. I value that time with myself.

But those few days away made me realize something.

Being alone and being still are not necessarily the same thing.

I could be alone and still be moving. Still thinking. Still creating. Still figuring things out. Still asking myself, What's next?

I had made room around me, but I hadn't necessarily made room within me.

Because we live in a season, all of us, where rushing gets mistaken for living. Where being busy gets mistaken for

being intentional. You can fill every hour and still not be present in a single one of them. Because intentionality requires presence. And you can't be present when you're constantly living three steps ahead of yourself.

You can be alone and still be rushing.

I was proof of that.

And when I finally stopped, I started hearing myself again.

The things I wanted. The things I didn't want anymore. The things I wanted to say. The way I wanted to move through this next season of my life.

I talk a lot about coming home to yourself. I teach this. I teach people how to move from being a human doer to a human being. And if I'm truthful, teaching it didn't exempt me from needing it. I found myself standing in that exact space anyway.

I want you to know that because this isn't theory I read somewhere. It's something I live and relearn, same as you.

Because sometimes we get so used to moving through life that we don't even recognize that we're tired.

We're functioning. We're getting things done. We're showing up.

But underneath all that movement, there can be an exhaustion we've simply learned to live with.

Maybe the answer isn't always another plan, another goal, or figuring out what's next.

Maybe sometimes the answer is simply to be.

To become quiet enough to hear what has been trying to get your attention.

Because life isn't just about movement. It's about alignment.

And sometimes you have to stop long enough to recognize whether the life you're moving through is still aligned with the life you actually want to live.

So I'll leave you with this:

When was the last time you were still long enough to hear what you actually wanted, before asking yourself what you needed to do next?

Where are you rushing right now that you don't need to be?

If this stirred something in you, I invite you to listen.

But checking the box was never the point.

Coming home to you was.
